Just recently(July 10th) a developers diary has been released. The developers tell about the new main character Commander Shepard on his “suicide mission”. They explain why decisions should be made carefully and why teambuilding is very important in this game. There is also more info about the combat gameplay, space exploration and even about the ending of the game???

The developers diary begins with the reveal of the main character Commander Shepard and details on some combat action, showing a new bionic power that can manipulate your enemy’s just like a sort of telekinesis. Also there is a glimpse on the improved team command system, duck and cover gameplay, heavy weapon action and the full interupt system that allows you to end a conversation just like in real life (by throwing someone off a building). Space exploration is another big part of the game. It lets you fly to different planets and discover new epic locations if you have enough fuel. Once arrived at a planet you can scan them with the “planet toys” and go down to investigate and explore them. Finally the diary concludes with the developers talking about the game ending, so be warned there is a so called spoiler inside.

About: Mass Effect 2 is an upcoming action role-playing video game under development by BioWare with assistance from EA Montreal, and set to be published by Electronic Arts. The game is the sequel to Mass Effect, and will be released for Microsoft Windows and the Xbox 360 sometime between January and March of 2010.
